Eat less sugar. Eat real food. Know your numbers.

An evidence-graded guide to low-carb eating, fasting and exercise, built around Indian and Tamil home cooking.

Compiled by Jayakanthan, Richmond, Virginia

Started from the popular Tamil Paleo diet chart. Every claim is checked against medical journals and graded A to D, including the ones that did not hold up.

New here? Do these three, in this order

  1. 1Get your labs doneand check your medicines with your doctor
  2. 2Change the plateless rice and sugar, more vegetables, keerai and protein
  3. 3Then add fasting and walkingstart with 12 hours and a walk after meals

What this site is, and what it is not

The Tamil Paleo chart helped many people cut sugar and rice, and for type 2 diabetes the core idea has real support. Some of its claims go beyond what studies show, and a few parts are unsafe for people on certain medicines. This site keeps what holds up, flags what does not, and shows the evidence for each claim.

Nutrition science is never "indisputable". Trials are short, people differ, and good researchers disagree. So every claim here carries a grade: A strong, B moderate, C weak, D no real evidence. Where the evidence points the other way, you will see ✕.

Intermittent fasting: what it does and what it doesn't

An eating window helps some people eat less. The trials say it is not magic, longer is not better, and it can be dangerous with some medicines.

Move: walking after meals, and lifting something heavy

The chart says 30 minutes of mild walking. The evidence says: walk after you eat, add strength training, and South Asians probably need more than the standard 150 minutes.
